Impulse Annual of Contemporary Dance
Title
Impulse Annual of Contemporary Dance
Description
Impulse was started by choreographers Marian van Tuyl and Ann Halprin and a group of students in the Bay Area in 1948. Throughout its 22 year run, Impulse sought to foster conversation about contemporary dance and its relations to a variety of aesthetic and social
issues.
Complete runs of Impulse have become rare, but the DRC holds 14 of the 20 total volumes, including the very rare first issue from 1948. The history and contents of Impulse may be further explored online via Temple University's digital collection: http://digital.library.temple.edu/cdm/landingpage/collection/p15037coll4
